Privacy
Last updated October 2026. This is a first version, written while Lingo Saga is being tested.
In short
- Lingo Saga keeps your email address, your account and the words you save. Nothing else about you is stored by Lingo Saga yet.
- To write, read aloud and explain stories, what you ask for is sent to the AI services listed below.
- When you practise speaking, your voice goes straight to Microsoft for scoring. Lingo Saga doesn't record it.
- There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
- You can delete your account at any time, on My account.
Who runs Lingo Saga
Lingo Saga is run by [to confirm: name of the person or business responsible], which decides how your information is used (the "controller"). Registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number [to confirm: ICO number].
Questions or requests: hello@lingosaga.com.
What Lingo Saga keeps, and why
- Your account: your email address, whether you sign in with Google or an emailed code, and when you joined and last signed in. This is so you can sign in, keep your saved words and, later, your stories. If you use Google, Google also sends your name and profile picture; Lingo Saga deletes them straight away.
- Words you save: when you press ☆ Save word, the word, its meaning and the sentence it came from (with its English), so you can find them again on My words. You can delete any of them, or all of them by deleting your account.
- Usage records (logs): each time you use a feature, a short record of what was used, with a random number for your account (never your email): for example the language, level and length you chose, how long it took, scores from speaking practice, and the estimated cost. They never include the topic you typed, the story, or what you said. They help keep the site working and affordable, and are kept for about an hour.
- Things you choose on this device: your voice choice and whether words are highlighted are kept in your browser, not by Lingo Saga.
The law allows this because it's needed to provide what you've asked for, and, for the logs, to keep the site working safely (legitimate interests).
